This is my Sew Thoughtful card. I used the Vintage stamp set from TAC T-3288. I recently got my wings by becoming a consultant with The Angel Company so I'm very excited to start new projects using their products.
I received this stamp set with my start up order and saw that The TAC Savvy Projects Blog was having a blog challenge using this set.
I started out by cutting tan cardstock 4" x 10" from the Neautrals cardstock colors and scoring it at 5" making the card 5" tall. I cut three different pink and brown papers from the Rustic Chic V-928 collection at about 1 1/4" a piece.
I used Burnt Umber Ink to ink the doily to make it look aged. I then stamped my dress form, pin cushion, and sentiment in black onto cream cardstock. I again brushed the Burnt Umber steamp pad on the cardstock to make it look aged as well as using a sponge. I used my watercolor pencils to color in the stamps and my Caboodle blending marker to make the color richer. I cut the stamps out and mounted them onto brown cardstock paper. I then cut the stamps out again around the brown cardstock.
I had some ribbon in my stash that I layered across the bottom of the card; green first, peach, then robin's egg blue. I then mounted my papers onto the card. I mounted the doily on the front of the card, then used pop dots to mount my stamps to add some dimension.
I had some oval circles I used to cut out the sentiment and mounted it to an oval from the Hemmingway Soar With It collection. I finished the sentiment off by using scappers twine to make two bows. I mounted the sentiment with pop dots.
This was a fun card to make because I got to experiment with layering ribbon as well as using ink. I would have liked to have sewn the three layers of paper vertically on the card but was running out of time before my toddler woke from her nap.
